Chittenango is a town in Madison County with a population of 4,290. Chittenango is the birthplace of Frank Baum, the author of Wizard of Oz, and every year Chittenango holds a three-day annual festival called Oz-Stravaganza! to celebrate the literary works of the author. The Wizard of Oz celebrations continue outside the festival. There is a yellow brick sidewalk that runs through the village and many stores adopted the Oz theme. Chittenango Falls State Park a 167 ft waterfall. The park offers a variety of activities such as playgrounds, picnic tables, hiking, and fishing along with many nature trails. The schools are above average. There are several family-friendly restaurants. Many families and professionals live in Chittenango.
